WHo We ARE
Over 16% of Southern Californians lack enough resources to meet the basic U.S. Poverty rate. This directly affects more than 1 of 5 children in San Diego’s inner-city minority population. At URBN Resources, we work to empower at-risk youth and families to improve their quality of life by addressing food insecurity, access to education, and job training. At the same time, we seek to help the people we serve to build a brighter path and more resourceful future.
What started as an individual commitment of one family to feed the homeless on Thanksgiving and Christmas, has now become a larger Labor of Love. We have started building a new-generation driven movement that helps those locally in need.
To help alleviate food insecurity, we aim to feed both the homeless and less fortunate families in the community regularly through our Various Campaigns. By partnering with other nonprofit organizations, URBN Resources can provide a means of furniture, clothing, gas, groceries, gift cards, and other necessities for many local families weekly, monthly, and on every major holiday.

our culture
We are an effective, results-driven organization with a passion for uplifting and empowering people who need help. Food insecurity is just part of our vision. As we continue to grow, so does our responsibility to the place we call home.
Through a value-based strategy that educates and empowers people to take action, we are working to benefit the common good of everyone in our community. This is how we strive to make sure that they will have the access and opportunity to elevate.
We are dedicated to excellence and believe that people should have access to improvements in their lives. By building, mobilizing, and maintaining relationships throughout San Diego, our effort is to reach those that need various levels of assistance.
serving is truly a labor of love!

our team
Our networking philosophy begins with identifying and involving individuals who believe in URBN Resource's mission and goals. By doing so, participants are identified who want to work and achieve specific changes in their communities.
Through outreach and community organizing, URBN Action Teams (UAT) are made up of community members and leaders who are committed to improving what they see around them as residents. URBN Resources UAT leaders participate in roles in their communities such as boards, commissions, clergy, and planning groups within their city or their child's school.
